At Sala Evason Hideaway and Spa at Samui we donate 0.5% of revenues to projects which benefit both the local and global community and environment. Furthermore we engage local communities and actively employ hosts and service providers from Koh Samui wherever practicable. Where possible, we give business to the community of Koh Samui, especially if it helps to preserve traditional skills and craftsmanship (shop items, guest amenities, furniture, etc.).

We provide social services which enhance and strengthen the community in which we operate. For example we do this by sending our host teams once a year to paint Baan Plai Laem School, a local school in Bophut. We also support this school and the local temple by facilitating their events and by buying teaching materials. The purpose of this is to increase extensive public awareness as well as maintain a mutual relationship between the resort and community. We acknowledge the importance of having a good environment for our children so as to assist in better developing their capabilities and learning skills.

Since March 2007, Sala Evason Hideaway & Spa at Samui has been a member of Restaurants Against Hunger (RAH). We are one of the first resorts to join RAH in Asia. RAH is a charity campaign in support of Action Against Hunger, one of the leading international organisations in the fight against hunger and malnutrition. The goal of RAH is to use the participating restaurants to help reduce global hunger by raising funds which will be used to help people during emergencies and to help create solutions to prevent hunger that are long term. Our cooperation with RAH results in the fact that we have selected a typically Thai dish in our restaurant, Dining on the Hill, and donate a certain amount from the sale of this dish to the RAH-campaign.

Currently we also actively support and work together with Care for Children, UNICEF, the Dog Rescue Centre Samui and many other local organisations.
