Together for a better environment and local community!
Reducing the negative environmental and social impacts from our activities, which include providing accommodation, dining, excursions, spa, sports and aquatic activities, is an aim of Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi and our hosts. By using the Green Globe 21 Benchmarking indicators we commit to developing a sustainable environment, which we will continuously monitor against the targets and goals set by Green Globe benchmarks.
On an annual basis we will submit performance data to Green Globe, which will be adjusted, amended and acted upon wherever appropriate. Policies and procedures in line with the Green Globe 21 standard have been developed to support our environmental and social sustainability activities and will be renewed at least annually. Key Performance Areas developed by Earthcheck commit us to:
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency, conservation and management
- Reduce water consumption through management of freshwater resources
- Preserve our ecosystem within our resort as well as nearby surrounding areas
- Raise social and cultural issues through involvement and contribution to local communities
- Utilize and manage our land in order to preserve the environment and provide a natural habitat for wildlife and vegetation
- Protect the air quality both inside and outside our buildings and control noise pollution to not negatively affect guests, hosts or neighbours
- Treat all our waste water to avoid polluting discharges
- Minimize waste production through reduction, reuse and recycling of products
Thai and international legislative requirements, such as environmental, public and occupational health and safety, hygiene, and employment, will be followed and wherever possible improved upon. Preference is given to the employment of people living on Koh Yao Noi or nearby areas, local products and services which do not adversely affect the resort's operational activities, viability, and environmental and social impacts.
Any interested parties can freely obtain this environmental and social sustainability policy on request.
