At Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay, we are committed
to contribute to a sustainable development by reducing
our negative environmental and social impact and
contributing our resources to the local community in
which we live. It lies in our interest to do this since we
want future generations to be able to experience the
beauty of Zighy Bay, its nature and culture. We
recognize that our operations of providing host and
guest accommodation, dining experiences, spa
treatments, excursions, sports and adventures, will
have an effect on the environment. Based on this
understanding, we are committed to reduce the
negative environmental and social impacts stemming
from all our activities, and to constantly improve our
sustainability performance.
In order to meet our objective, we shall :
Contribute our resources, both financial and human,
to help better the environment and the community
which we live in.
Strive to be in harmony with the environment and
our cultural surroundings.
Contribute 0.5% of monthly total revenue to
support social and environmental projects on a local,
national and global level.
Reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases through
the implementation of energy efficient devices,
awareness-raising among hosts, guests and local
community on energy consumption, and by turning to
renewable sources of energy.
Reduce our consumption of fresh water through the
implementation of water-saving equipment and
awareness-raising among hosts and guests on water
conservation.
Regard waste as an unused resource and live
according to the 4 R’s of refuse, reduce, reuse and
recycle.
Ensure we minimize the use of raw material,
especially paper products.
Conserve the natural heritage and biodiversity of the
ecosystems that we live in.
Ensure that our hosts receive training in environmental
matters and that we generate environmental awareness
in our dealings with all stakeholders.
Continuously monitor and improve on our efforts to
save natural resources and minimize our negative
environmental impact.
Source our products from environmentally and
socially responsible suppliers and give preference to
local suppliers as well as organic and fair trade
products whenever possible, as stated in our
Responsible Purchasing policy.
Comply with, and wherever possible improve upon,
Omani legislation, relevant requirements and
international agreements.
Contribute to the sustainable development of our
host residence, the Sultanate of Oman.
Ensure transparency by producing an annual
sustainability report based on the GRI guidelines.
Assessed and updated regularly, this Sustainability Policy is
communicated to all hosts and is available to all stakeholders
and other interested parties.
