24H-Architecture was established on 1 January 2001 by Boris Zeisser and Maartje Lammers.  Inspirited by nature, their main theme of work is Art d’Eco, the art of ecology: Combining eco friendly materials, state of the art renewable techniques and building methods with local as well as globally inspirited design-ingredients leads to balanced architectural solutions supporting the environment as well as beauty.

Dutch architect Boris Zeisser, based in Rotterdam since 1995, has an impressive portfolio of eco-influenced international projects which include a recently built summer house in Sweden.

In addition to some more traditional projects in France and Italy, Boris Zeisser has also been working on a prestigious London conversion – a 300-year old collection of buildings - with an organic approach, in which materials would age beautifully and textures take on new character. He even went so far as to introduce pure nature, with tree stumps seating elements.

Introducing pure nature to a collection of three-hundred year old buildings was no mean challenge. Finishes included hand hewn timber furniture. Boris Zeisser had also recently started the design for an eco-resort in Suriname and in the Caribbean.

The Den project at Soneva Kiri was however a completely new challenge. As Boris Zeisser later said -”My biggest challenge was building using materials with which I was not familiar, in a country that I was also not familiar”. He consulted with a colleague who had experience with bamboo structures in Bali, plus some valuable input also came from some bamboo building experts in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai. Boris Zeisser is justly proud of this one-off creation. A person not given to overstatements, his summary of the past year was, “You have to be naïve enough to take on a project like this, but experienced enough to make it happen. You have to think in solutions”.
