Con Dao
Six Senses selected Con Dao as the location of its resort for its unspoilt natural beauty and ecological uniqueness. The Con Dao archipelago remains a relatively undiscovered gem: covering just 70 km and with a population of only 5,000, island life here is as tranquil as the surrounding waters.

The Con Dao archipelago is located 180km off the south-east coast of Vietnam in the South China Sea. Con Son is its main island and also a national park, offering pristine beaches and breathtaking natural surroundings. Considered one of the best diving spots in Vietnam with over 1,000 hectares of unspoiled coral reefs, Con Dao is included in the list of ‘Areas of Highest Regional Priority’ in the World Bank Global System of Marine Protected Areas. Resident dolphins and dugong herds can be found in the surrounding waters, and each year thousands of hawksbills and green turtles return to the island for nesting.

Swathes of white sand form safe breeding grounds for hawksbills and green turtles, and a wide range of marine life, including dolphins and dugong (a breed of manatee), are attracted by the calm waters of the bay. Inland, the landscape is home to a multitude of wildlife, where the air is alive with birdsong and the chatter of monkeys and squirrels.

The pristine Dat Doc beach, the site of the Six Senses Con Dao resort, lies only 8km from Con Son airport, in a National Park encompassing both marine and terrestrial resources.
