About Vietnam
A country where renaissance is the buzz-word, Vietnam is on the move. Access is now easier than ever, infrastructure is being upgraded and the country’s famed entrepreneurial spirit is once again alive and well. It has become increasingly integrated with the world economy and became a member of the WTO in 2006.
It is a country with an intoxicating sense of vitality and optimism; with vibrant paddy fields and sparkling-white beaches, dynamic cities and venerable pagodas – often overwhelming in its sheer beauty. The country is strategically positioned, Laos and Cambodia to the west, China to the north, and ocean to the east & south.
Ho Chi Minh City, or Saigon to use its historical name, is the most active city of Vietnam. It is located in a prime geographical position, converging many favourable conditions for economic development.
The city is arguably one of the most lively and charming destinations in South East Asia, offering a wealth of natural beauty and overflowing with stunning tropical landscapes, inspiring mountains and ancient architectural treasures. Beautiful old buildings rub shoulders with temples and fabulous shopping opportunities abound in Chinatown and in the many boutiques and shops throughout the city.
With a rising economy, a well-educated populace, and modern facilities, Ho Chi Minh City is considered by many to be the economic, cultural, scientific, and technological hub of the country.
And from Dong Khoi Street, the city’s premier shopping precinct, it is but 25-minutes by power boat through winding and picturesque waterways fringed with coconut and mangrove trees, to Six Senses Saigon River.
