When to Visit

Con Son Bay

From May to November, turtles nest on beaches around the Islands. Six Senses Con Dao keeps track of where the turtles nest and arranges for guests to experience the nesting and the hatching. During February - July, the waters around Con Dao are at their clearest for diving, with visibility averaging around 20 to 30 meters.

Nature Seasons

May - October
Turtle Nesting - Turtles nest on 13 beaches around the Islands, but most head to just one beach. Trips go at night by speedboat, where we wait at the local ranger station until the rangers give us permission to head on to the beach. Guests can watch and help the rangers collect eggs for transplantation to a hatchery. After the first couple of months of the season it is quite common to see the hatchlings and help release them at night.

December - September
Con Dao Long Tail Macaque Monkeys and Con Dao Giant Black Squirrels. The property offers hikes for guests so they can see these animals.

Sport Seasons

January
Rock Climbing - Six Senses Con Dao is the first to introduce the sport of Rock Climbing to Con Dao. We launched our first location in December 2010 and plan to introduce at least another four sites throughout 2013.

Scuba Diving and Snorkeling - The waters around Con Dao are at their clearest during this time with visibility averaging around 20 to 30 meters; with conditions are at their best - little wind, low tidal movement and access to Vietnam's only underwater ship wreck.  There is diving available for all competence levels and also the possibility to become certified divers for those wishing to learn.

February - November
Sailing - Winds prevailing from the West and South make great sailing and windsurfing conditions during this time. During December and January, sailing is not possible due to high wind speeds, but sailing and windsurfing activities resume in February.
