Celebrity Chef Paul Merrett returns to Six Senses Laamu from July 29 to August 7 for three exclusive dinners, with a spice twist. Spice is a big part in his culinary philosophy.
His cuisine is strongly influenced by his travels to many spicy corners of the world..He was born on the spice island - Zanzibar but the spices of Sri Lanka, Thailand, North Africa, the Middle East, Spain and Japan also influence his cooking.
His impressive background in the restaurant world has seen him working with some of London’s top chefs, including Peter Kromberg and Gary Rhodes.
Chef Paul's media career began with a one-off appearance on UK’s Channel 4 Light Lunch. Since then he has been involved in many television projects including a ten-part BBC2 series named The Best, three series of Ever Wondered About Food on BBC1, Family Supercooks and most recently presenting Economy Gastronomy on prime time BBC2. Alongside this, Paul has been a regular contributor on Market Kitchen, ITV's Sunday Feast, Perfect and Saturday Kitchen, as well as appearing on both BBC Breakfast and GMTV.
Paul is also a keen author, with his first book, Using The Plot, being published in 2007. Economy Gastronomy followed, which has its foundation in the BBC Television series of the same name, which was hosted and written by Paul together with Allegra McEvedy. Paul is currently writing his third book
Celebrity Chef Paul Merrett will be presenting his Signature dinners at LEAF Restaurant on July 31, August 3 and August 6. Guests wishing to join these dinners may book in advance or contact their GEM directly. The events are priced at USD 99++ per person.
