Social Outreach by resort hosts
Giving back to the community - from the heart
Hosts of Six Senses Ninh Van Bay impliment programmes to give back to their communities, with Hearts to Hearts charity events and visits to schools and orphanages in their region.
Giving back to the community is a significant part of Six Senses ethos. This was admirably demonstrated when hosts and management of Six Senses Ninh Van Bay recently visited two local orphanages and a charity school, taking with them an array of necessities and encouragement as part of their Hearts to Hearts programme.
The Anh Dao Open House, Phat Buu Pagoda and Hao Sen Charity School are all located in Ninh Hoa District, the less developed area neighbouring Cam Ranh. The orphanages currently look after hundreds of children of varying ages from babies to college and university attendees, and the homeless. They also offer support to the disabled and elderly members of the community.
The team from Six Senses Ninh Van Bay contributed some basic needs such as food, electric fans and learning aids, in addition to two water filters, which the chairman of the resort’s S.E.R.F (Social, Environmental Responsibility Fund), Mr Huy had arranged to be purchased and installed.
At the charity school visit, the resort hosts joined in games and taught the children some simple English songs. Needless to say, the children at all three establishments enjoyed the visits enormously as shown by the big smiles and laughter. The visits were also rewarding and eye-opening for the resort hosts as they had the opportunity to enjoy the remote and beautiful countryside while make a meaningful community contribution.
Gary Henden, the resort's general manager, has also committed to offer jobs to the students after they graduate from their education, giving the students hope for a brighter future.
