When to Visit

SSZP Felicite aerial shot

The exceptional location of Félicité Island outside of the cyclone belt offers virtual perpetual summer. The heaviest rainfall is often from December through February, although the sun plays a juxtaposition with the wet and enhances the lush foliage even more so, and the rain tries to limit itself to the late afternoon.

Any time is good for a vacation to the Seychelles, however there are some specific times for particular interest.

Nature Seasons

April to October
Bird Lovers - April is the breeding season for birds, while May to September is the time for sooty terns. October is a migrating season from one island to another. Flocks of birds are an awesome sight.

Mid October – mid January
Turtle Nesting – Sea turtles are coming up onto our Grand Anse beach to dig their nests and lay their eggs. Each nest is properly protected and a signboard for guest’s information is placed next to it.

Mid December – mid March
Turtle Hatchlings – Tiny turtles erupt from their nest deep in the sand and begin their life or death race to the sea.

Sports Seasons

All year around
Sailing, Fishing and Snorkeling – These activities are recommended all year round although October to April claims to be the optimal period.

March - May and September - November
Diving - Aficionados claim that the full adventures of diving are best from March to May and from September to November.

May - September
Hiking and Surfing - For visitors wishing to hike and walk nature trails, May through September offer the best weather, as this period is the most temperate. Surfing excursions can be organized at the nearby Grand Anse Beach on La Digue Island.
