BALI, Indonesia – January 31, 2018 – Six Senses Uluwatu is pleased to announce the appointment of Joel Bartlett as resort manager. Joel will be in charge of the resort’s overall operations, ensuring that guests receive exceptional and out-of-the-ordinary experiences.
Joel brings more than 10 years of international hotel experience in the high-end hospitality sector across Asia to the role. He joins the Six Senses Uluwatu, Bali team following his previous position with One & Only Hayman Island, Australia as director of rooms, prior to an extensive career with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
Joel said, “I am very excited to take this new challenge with Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas. I believe that the ethos and the focus of the brand on sustainability and wellness are a perfect fit for me. I am very happy to have joined the family and I look forward to the upcoming opening of Six Senses Uluwatu, Bali.”
Joel began his career in 2007 as a trainee at Dukes London after which he moved to Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. He worked in China for eight years while studying at Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a focus on Mandarin studies. Joel holds a Diploma from the Swiss Hotel Association and Diplôme Culinaire d’Hôtelier from the Le Cordon Bleu École de Cuisine in Australia.
Joel enjoys spending time with his family and exploring new places and flavors. He is always looking for the best local food and the best burger. During his free time, he enjoys a good workout or a long walk and would like to be surfing everyday if that were possible.
