December 19, 2018 - Dining on the Rocks at Six Senses Samui is reputed to serve some of the best food on the island. Sitting proud on a headland, it offers 270-degree views over the Gulf of Thailand … and a story or two about its Southern Thai heritage.
The first thing you notice when entering the award-winning Dining on the Rocks is its unique architecture. Ten terraced decks of weathered teak and bamboo combine open air and covered seating areas leading down to the sea. A shadow puppet concept has been introduced to embrace the Southern Thai cultural heritage into the design.
If you’re after a private place to chill out before the sun goes down, our hot tip is to choose either table 99 or 100. Relax at the dining table, lounge on a daybed, or get cozy on a beanbag while taking in the magnificent view out to the legendary Gulf of Siam.
The culinary team, led by Executive Chef Christian Martena and Food and Beverage Director Garry Chan focus on creating imaginative, yet sensible cuisine stemming from organic and sustainable ingredients, sourced locally and from abroad. They use classic and modern techniques to preserve and exploit the purity of the original flavors and nutritional goodness and attract foodies from all over the island with their ingenious fusion menus.
