Evason Ana Mandara established the benchmark for environmental and community awareness in Vietnam. We've implemented a range of initiatives together with special emphasis placed on the local community, where our hosts are actively involved in programs to improve living standards and opportunities for local residents.
orphans whose Christmas wishes came true in 2019 thanks to our guests
plastic bottles avoided in 2019 by providing guests drinking water in reusable glass bottle
students receiving around USD 71,900 from our scholarship program since 2006
Impartial specialists evaluate our environmental performances to ensure we are doing things right and to share suggestions for improvements.
Natural ventilation is used in the main reception area and restaurants to avoid high consumption of energy and provide a healthier alternative to air conditioning. Energy efficient LED lights are used throughout the resort. Producing energy creates pollution and is considered the most significant cause of global warming. We have installed solar thermal panels to produce the hot water supply in each guest room as well as in our kitchens.
Evason Ana Mandara is located in one of the most beautiful bays in Vietnam. Our resort joins quarterly with local partners for clean ups along the coast of Mun Island, a marine protected area that has one of the most beautiful coral reefs in Nha Trang and a depository for much trash brought by sea currents. The island management is impressed with our work and fully supports our efforts. In addition, we do clean ups on our own beach as well as the city's beach.
By filtering and bottling our own still and sparkling water, we have reduced the carbon footprint associated with the packaging and transporting of drinking water. By using only glass water bottles, we eliminate all plastic bottles from resort operations, part of an effort to be single-use plastic free. In addition, 50 percent of the water sales from our food and beverage outlets are invested locally on projects which deliver healthy drinking water to those without access.
Half the funds collected from drinking water sales goes directly to clean water projects and ongoing filter maintenance in schools and orphanages.
Evason Ana Mandara Scholarship has been operating since 2006 and has so far helped 1,610 primary, junior and senior high school students and their families with total funding of around USD 71,900. In addition, we run several charity trips throughout the year to support local communities, orphanages, older and ethnic people in regional areas. In some orphanages, we also help to teach children about environmental responsibility.
