Sustainability at Six Senses Bali
As a regenerative resort, we focus on resource conservation and promoting best practices to reduce waste to landfill, energy and water consumption, and our carbon footprint. We work with our local Balinese suppliers to reduce waste by banning Styrofoam boxes, buying in bulk, replacing plastic packaging with a take-back program while favoring farm-to-fork businesses and growing our own herbs and vegetables. Through our Regenerative Impact Fund, 0.5 percent of our resort revenue supports local communities, conservation, and Bali’s heritage.
Environmental Responsibility
Our responsible operations encompass everything from water and energy efficiency to plastic reduction, waste management, local sourcing and sustainable dining. We also support circular and regenerative practices, including supplier take-back programs, gardening, regenerative farming and reduced reliance on single-use materials. Beyond the resort, we focus on protecting Bali’s natural environment and biodiversity, including initiatives supporting local farmers and the conservation of the Bali Starling.

One mangrove tree at a time
In 2025, our hosts rolled up their sleeves to collect 614 kilograms of trash from the town, temples, and beaches. They also planted 150 mangrove trees, proving that a little mud goes a long way. As part of our sustainable host wellness program, giving back is part of the job, not an extra. Every team member is encouraged to dedicate time to sustainability initiatives, helping restore local ecosystems while connecting with Bali beyond the resort. Small trees today, stronger coastlines tomorrow.
Social Responsibility
Our social impact initiatives focus on supporting local communities and creating positive environmental change. We support local schools through zero-waste education and initiatives that promote sustainable practices. Through food rescue partnerships, we also help turn surplus into meals for communities in need.

Zero Waste Local Schools
In 2025, Six Senses Bali teamed up with Green Books for a pilot project at SD4 Pecatu to help 182 students turn “zero waste” into everyday action. After six months of facilitating 12 engaging workshops and hands-on learning, 90 percent of the school’s waste was diverted from landfill. We also helped the canteen remove 100 percent of its plastic packaging in favor of reusable crockery, with students washing their own plates after lunch.

Food Rescue Foundation
Six Senses Bali partners with Yayasan Scholars of Sustenance to turn surplus into sustenance, collecting excess food and donations from hotels to prepare meals for communities in need. In 2025, our contributions helped provide 11,119 meals, including 8,797 meals for Balinese residents displaced by severe floods in Denpasar.
