June 6, 2022 - Six Senses Laamu’s exciting summer projects include a new Marine Discover Center and the release of the 2021 Marine Underwater Initiative Annual Report.
2022 will mark an exciting chapter in the history of Six Senses Laamu. In an effort to develop a deeper guest connection with the beautiful Laamu atoll, the resort will be making some enhancements, including:

Six Senses Laamu has released the most recent annual report from their Maldives Underwater Initiative (MUI) team, highlighting their key achievements in research, community outreach, guest education, communications, and resort sustainability. This beautifully designed report is out now on the MUI Website.
Last year, thanks to years of data collected by MUI, and an extensive application from the team, the Laamu Atoll was declared a Hope Spot by Dr. Sylvia Earle and her team at Mission Blue. Shortly after this, the Maldives cabinet approved the protection of six ecologically significant sites in the Laamu Atoll, making these the first-ever marine protected areas in Laamu.
