All of our resorts and spas harness the healing power of sound in some way. Here are just some of the ways we provide good vibrations that can alter your brain waves to induce harmony.
The winter has provided a golden opportunity to spruce up the spa and fitness equipment at Six Senses Douro Valley. This includes new underwater sensory experiences, as explained by Wellness Director Javier Suarez.
We have recently refurbished our spa facilities and I’m really excited about this therapy as it combines two of my favorite relaxing experiences: music and water.
We have created several journeys but the most comprehensive is “Float your troubles away”, a 20-minute floating experience with your ears just under the water and your body suspended with the help of floating aids.
We offer a specific playlist depending on the time of day and light from outside. This might be chanting manta music, sounds of dolphins and whales or bespoke compositions for underwater environments such as Le spectacle de l'Océan by Michel Redolfi.
A Tibetan singing bowl meditation (Ed. see 2. below).
The restorative sound vibration from Tibetan singing bowls resonates with your body fluid, cleansing and rejuvenating your energy. As your mind slows, it evokes a pre-meditative experience. The Singing Bowl Ritual is available at no extra charge when you book any treatment at our spas around the world.
With its calming palate of sand and light naturals, Six Senses Spa Dubai features six treatment suites that are each dedicated to a different sense – sight, sound, touch, taste, smell and intuition. Each spa treatment comes with an added 30-minute sensory experience.
In the Sound Suite, you can relax back into a healing vibroacoustic lounger while sound vibrations resonate through your body at a deep cellular level, encouraging muscles to let go of tension, circulation to improve and brainwaves and blood pressure to rebalance. It's like lying in your very own Tibetan bowl. There is also an interactive hanging chime feature, a steam shower and a sauna where you can choose your own calming music.
Following our successful launch of Friends of Six Senses last year, we have created a podcast of the most popular sessions in case you missed them. Each are around 30 to 40 minutes long and dive into different aspects of wellness and sustainability with experts from around the world. The goal is to help you connect more deeply to yourself, others and the world around you.
Six Senses is pushing beyond traditional boundaries of well-being into less visible fields such as sacred energy and connection. What is our sixth sense, and how does it benefit us? Alberto Villoldo PhD tells us more.
