Tai Chi tranquility in Puzhao Temple

Tai chi is the best way to start your day, harnessing your qi (life force) to increase your energy in both body and mind. This beautiful Qing Dynasty Buddhist temple – with its mountainous environment and history of more than 300 years – serves as a unique retreat to practice this martial art.

When you arrive, you will be greeted by the Qing Cheng Taoist tai chi master, who has trained under Liu Sui Bin, one of the most famous grandmasters in China. Mr. Liu Feng will lead you through your exercises starting with your breath, helping you condition your body, qi and mind while understanding the essence of Taoism health.

The particular part of the temple was chosen for its tranquility to help you focus more deeply on the flow of your movements. During your practice, you may see one of the ever-present peacocks strolling past, a symbol of good fortune.

Your Puzhao Temple experience includes transfers from Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain, tai chi attire and shoes, a one-hour tai chi class, a temple breakfast with organic fresh juices and a very special Zen tea ceremony in the tea house. Please book your class at least one day in advance.

For more information, please call +86 28 8712 6666 or email [email protected].
