They say that to breathe mountain air is to breathe happiness. Six Senses Crans-Montana is one of those rare gems where, for the final few pistes of the day, you can ski to the limits of your limbs from the top of the Plaine Morte glacier and then down through the pine-scented forest to a “white carpet” welcome from our ski concierge at the Alice door. Named after the little girl who first walked through it, the door indeed leads to a Wonderland inside the hotel.
We’ll dry your boots and store your skis while you warm up over a vin chaud by the fire in the beautiful Alpine lounge and then head for a shower and dip in the heated pool. Complete with 15,000 hanging wooden icicles overhead, the pool’s seamless indoor-out design takes you to an open courtyard via a few dolphin kicks. Here you can float on your back surrounded by birch trees and look up at the last rays of the sun blazing orange as it dips below the mountain tops.
Now, let’s turn up the heat. Why try just one sauna when you can enjoy four? Choose from our hot rock sauna, inspired by the granite peaks outside, the traditional Finnish sauna with aromatic stones, the fast-acting infrared sauna to reduce joint pain, or the bio salt sauna complete with rose pink Himalayan salt bricks to enhance breathing and detoxification. Cool down with a handful of ice from the fountain or full Wim Hof submersion in the cold plunge pool.
Your legs will now be feeling fitter, so let’s get them feeling fabulous. Six Senses Spa Crans-Montana has seven single and two double treatment rooms. Along with a huge selection of deep tissue and foot massages, highly recommended is our signature 120-minute Journey to Restore. Begin by floating weightlessly in the dark silence of our sensory floatation pod, followed by a full-body massage using warm grape seed pillows and gentle movements along the meridians (the energy highways of your body).
Winter can wreak havoc on your skin, so if your skin is suffering from dryness, our Swiss Chocolate Wrap begins with a full-body exfoliation using purifying salts drawn from the Swiss Anzeindanz Glacier. Your body is then wrapped in a sweet-scented, pure cocoa body mask and heated gently to nourish and moisturize your skin.
For skiers, hikers, golfers, and anyone that wants to feel a little bit taller, one of our talking points is our Stretch Pod. Two skilled therapists (sometimes armed with a Hypervolt massage gun) use a combination of long stretch movements and your body weight to increase maneuverability, recovery, strength, and injury prevention. It’s fair to say that, once stretched, you’ll never look at the world quite the same way again.
Time is ticking before dinner, but our Biohack Recovery Lounge is a must-try. It features individual pods with massage loungers grouped around a vast Himalayan salt wall (no need to lick it, it is salty), and you can select from different bundles. 30 minutes to an hour is all you need.
The Radiance Hack will soothe your legs and add a youthful glow to your cheeks through a beauty tincture, compression boots, a red-light LED face mask to stimulate your natural collagen, and binaural beats to sharpen your mind. If you’ve overworked your golf swing, recline on the PEMF therapy recovery seat and opt for the Pain Management Hack, which includes a restoring tincture, compression boots, and Venom back belt.
April 13 to 16, 2023, complimentary for hotel guests, otherwise CHF 80 per class per person
Founded by partners in life, in crime, and business – Luuk Melisse and Gabriel Olszewski – Sanctum was born from the desire to push physical, mental, and spiritual boundaries to live richer life as a result. Each 50-minute class focuses on high-intensity mindful movement to empower the body and expand the mind.
The Sanctum sequence is a full-body workout that combines kundalini yoga, martial arts, animalistic flow, breathwork, and modern fitness with elements of HIIT. The method is curated to music inspired by Amsterdam’s electronic scene, enhanced by spoken word, and elevated with orchestral pieces to compliment mindful and meditation moments.
September 7 to 10, 2023, CHF 3,385 per person (single occupancy) or CHF 5,275 (two sharing)
Mountains represent stability and resilience. They encourage retrospection. Join Sanctum on a quest for discovery where you may interact with guardian spirits to obtain advice or protection and explore higher frequencies through the expansive mountainous landscape and rugged nature. Sculpt, stretch, and burn calories through a high-intensity moving sequence. Boost self-confidence and self-worth through mindful activities that reprogram your mind to release deeply rooted limiting beliefs. Decrease cortisol and increase serotonin levels as you take a deep breath and enjoy wellness in the wild.
