Introducing Aerial Yoga at Six Senses Spa Ninh Van Bay

NINH VAN BAY, Vietnam – December 26, 2017 – With the arrival of the New Year, Six Senses Spa Ninh Van Bay introduces an exciting new addition to its health and well-being line-up of guest experiences. Already hugely popular at several Six Senses Spas, aerial yoga brings together stretching, breathing and meditation with gymnastics and aerial arts.

Aerial yoga uses a hammock, made of a soft and supple parachute-silk fabric, which is suspended from above and used to support the body’s weight during a sequence of postures. It shares the mind-body connection principles of the traditional yoga practice, while the weightlessness helps remove compression from the spine and opens up joints, leading to stress and tension release. The hammock can also be used to strengthen muscles and find correct alignment in most poses, not just tricky inversions and provide natural alignment adjustments.

Additional benefits include muscle strengthening and lengthening, low impact cardiovascular conditioning, increased mobility, deeper body awareness and self-esteem. In addition, it adds an entirely new dimension to each individual’s yoga practice and stimulates the release of happy hormones. The classes take place at the Yoga Pavilion, which is surrounded by lush forest and a natural stream flowing beside it during the wet season.

“Aerial yoga is exciting, incredibly beneficial, and aligns perfectly with the Six Senses philosophy,” said Spa Manager Sohal Shah. “It is about reconnecting the body and mind, and rediscovering balance – a process that is accelerated by the incredible natural surrounds of Ninh Van Bay.”

The cost for 60-minute session is USD 125++ for two people.
