BANGKOK, November 15, 2018 – Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is pleased to announce the appointment of Polis Ioannou as director of sales and marketing for Six Senses Shaharut in Israel. The resort, which is due to open in 2019, is set south of the Negev Desert in the Arava Valley.
Polis brings over 20 years of high-end hospitality experience to the role, with his most recent position being with a marketing communications firm that he founded in 2015, offering effective solutions across travel, hospitality, lifestyle and luxury goods sectors.
He was previously the global sales manager for Aman resort’s Amanzoe Greece, director of sales and marketing for Thanos Hotels Group in Pafos, Cyprus, director of leisure sales for InterContinental Aphrodite Hills Resort Hotel in Pafos, Cyprus and sales and marketing manager for Anassa in Latsi, Cyprus.
Following his graduation with distinction from Surrey University with Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and Marketing, Polis joined Boca Raton Resort & Club in Florida, USA, before moving to his native Cyprus to join The Annabelle in Pafos as front office and guest services manager.
With a real passion for traveling, contemporary art and architecture, Polis particularly enjoys developing and promoting hospitality concepts, which combine his love of collaborating with artists and designers to support new initiatives and launching them to the world. Polis says, “My long and intensive work with global teams and amazing organizations has taught me the power of interpersonal relationships and that personal interaction is what builds the very foundation of long-lasting business and enduring relationships.”
Six Senses Shaharut promises out-of-the-ordinary experiences in a setting of biblical proportions. Its 59 suites and villas with one Private reserve are designed to integrate into the desert topography and preserve the natural terrain. They are built from, and inspired by, local rock and pigments, with landscaping that features cacti and indigenous desert blooms. The desert setting presents a host of activities from overnight camel camping, extreme sports, hiking, jeep safaris and wine tours.
