Sustainability at Krabey Island
Aside from the organic farm which produces much of the resort’s produce, there is also on-island bottling plant providing drinking water through reverse osmosis in reuseable glass bottles. Outside the resort, we're proactive in the local community by supporting education projects, social activities and marine conservation.
Environmental Responsibility
All Six Senses resorts produce still and sparkling drinking water for guests and hosts to minimize the carbon footprint that results from the packaging and transport of water - it tastes great too. On the main land, we tend a 40,000 square feet (3,700 square meters) organic garden in which fresh produce is grown for kitchen ingredients, thus encouraging a farm-to-table practice. Our hosts also tend small herb gardens which are blended into the island's natural vegetation and landscape.

Protecting island ecology
As a result of sustainable planning, our resort blends into the natural vegetation, creating an environment that has become a paradise for birds and butterflies. So far, our butterfly breeding program has recorded 23 species and we're now initiating a hornbill conservation program and beekeeping project.
Integrated conservation strategies on land as well as the marine environment will enhance the diversity of the island’s flora and fauna. It's not just for grownups: integrating conservation into our Grow With Six Senses activities encourages future generations to become responsible individuals too.

Coral reef restoration
Krabey Island is blessed with coral reefs around the island creating an opportunity for reef conservation and much richer underwater experiences. Based on a survey and recommendations by experts in 2017, our detailed and controlled conservation program in the future will enhance the quality of the coral reef and increase its density, population and protection.
Social Responsibility
We work hand in hand with our local Khmer communities to support school programs and participate in development initiatives.

Youth development program
We contribute to AllKids, a non-profit organization registered in Cambodia. Its main objective is to support and educate disadvantaged children from nearby villages through scholarships, student transport and financial assistance for equipment. We also assist nearby families with organic agricultural practices by providing them with the knowledge and skill to farm organic produce that the resort will purchase directly from them, thereby increasing their financial stability.
