Take a self guided tour around the Island of Con Dao. Approximately 5 kilometres away you will find the main town, the market, historical sites, and the friendly locals. Take a glimpse of everyday life as you ride along the main road and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Stop at the port and see the local fisherman and their vessels. Let your butler know when you wish to go and a bike will be arranged for you at the Welcome Sala with a map, water and a helmet; off you go.
What better way to spend the early morning than on a boat, feeling the sea breeze against your skin, with a backdrop of the Con Dao Archipelago.
We recommend you take this trip with an island local on his converted, but simple, fishing boat. Captain Thien has been plying the waters around Con Dao for over twenty-five years.
Who better to take you out and show you the best places to fish?
A 30-minute ride by speedboat will lead to the beautiful island of Bay Canh where the adventure begins. A two to two-and-a-half hour trek through the dense forest leads you to one of Con Dao’s most important landmarks.
Construction of the Bay Canh Lighthouse was between 1883 and 1885. It is located one of the highest points on Bay Canh island at 226 meters above sea level.
Enjoy the most amazing view and let your eyes wander over the Con Dao archipelago and the South Sea. Have a rest in the lovely garden surrounding the Lighthouse and meet the keepers, who are always delighted to receive guests.
Head to the islands of the Con Dao archipelago and discover some of Con Dao’s best kept secrets. A speedboat will take you island-hopping to discover the underwater life surrounding Vietnam’s Marine Protected Area.
We know the perfect spots around the archipelago where you will see some of the documented 1,493 species of marine life and the best coral formations in the country.
Con Dao is the only National Park in Vietnam that actively protects Sea Turtles and Du Gongs and is subject to seasonal access. We will stop at the beach where sea turtles come to lay their eggs. If it is the right time of year, you may spot a few of the turtles.

How To Get There
Con Son Island, the setting for Six Senses Con Dao, is around 230-kilometres, or 145-miles, from Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and is served by the regional Co Ong Airport (VCS). It's a 45-minute flight by Vietnam Airlines from Ho Chi Minh City, where you will be met and accompanied on the 10-minute transfer to the resort.

When to Visit
From May to November, turtles nest on beaches around the Islands. Six Senses Con Dao keeps track of where the turtles nest and arranges for guests to experience the nesting and the hatching. During February - July, the waters around Con Dao are at their clearest for diving, with visibility averaging around 20 to 30 meters.
Con Dao is the only National Park in Vietnam that actively protects turtles - visitors have a unique chance to watch Green and Hawksbill Sea Turtles nesting and laying their eggs.
