Six Senses Laamu
Laamu Atoll retains its very ancient culture, remaining virtually unspoilt by modern civilization.
Many of the islands have important archaeological sites, like Dhanbidhoo, Mundoo, Gan and Isdhoo. These are remains of monasteries, viharas and stupas of large proportions.
Pay a visit to the local communities to see the traditional lifestyle still prevailing, living indiferent to many modern ammenities.
Six Senses Laamu
Dolphins swim along the shores of Six Senses Laamu, the only resort in the atoll, and just north of the Equator.
The resort is a combination of on-land and over-water villas constructed of sustainable materials and set around the palm-fringed paradise.
At several lounges and restaurants our chefs from East and West prepare mouthwatering dishes, many created from produce grown in the island's organic gardens.
Finding Nemo Guided Snorkeling Adventure
Join a boat trip to the Laamu reefs and learn about marine life by snorkeling with our dive team.
The Laamu Atoll offers pristine untouched hard coral gardens with a large variety of fish life for inner and outer reef dives, as well as channel diving, with encounters of reef sharks, barracudas, stingrays, napoleon wrasses and of course, our friendly turtles are waiting for you!
Surfing the Yin Yang
It doesn’t get much better then this! As a destination for surfing The Maldives has everything a surfer’s heart desires – perfect waves, crystal clear water and plenty of reefs, all in a tropical setting.
Already, from the resort, you can see the impressive white spray of the “Yin Yang”, the most famous break in this Atoll.
There are a couple more fun waves around for both left and right handers.
Our experienced surf guides will take you there on half day and fullday trips. And as we are the only resort in this Atoll, our surfers have the breaks to themselves most of the time.
Local Island Excursion & Maldivian Family Experience
Take a tour of Hithadoo island and visit with a local Maldivian family to learn about their way of life.
The Laamu atoll boasts of a past civilization, and this is evident from a “Stupa” still showing the remnants from the Pre- Islamic period when Buddhism prevailed. This “Stupa” now resembling an Havitha or Mound has been treasured and preserved to this day.
Besides these sites there is Funadhoo island, now developed and having a farming site, a little post office and tiny bank.
Sandbank BBQ Dinner Experience
A completely unique and private dining experience is only a short speedboat ride away on our sandbank. Enjoy a delicious meal while the sun seemingly drops into the sea.
An amazing barbeque is freshly prepared by your own private chef as you listen to the waves gently lap against the shore and the smells of food mix pleasantly with the salty air.
Our hosts will light the area with lamps and candles that give the perfect ambience to a romantic evening or special event. This is a totally exclusive dining experience that should not be missed!
