How to get to Six Senses Bhutan

Bhutan is accessible by flights served by Druk Air and Bhutan airlines. Flights to Paro Airport (PBH) are available from Bangkok, Dubai, Delhi, Kathmandu, and Singapore. Regional flights including Kolkata, Guwahati, Gaya, Bagdogra, and Dhaka are also available. Your Six Senses Guide and Driver will meet you upon arrival and accompany you on your Khamsa through the Kingdom, sharing insights into the culture, history and local life of each valley as you go.

While visiting Bhutan, all foreign tourists must be accompanied by a licensed guide at all times. Restricted areas require permits applied through the immigration office in Thimphu. Checkpoints are located at road junctions throughout the country and independent traveling by foreign tourists (except for citizens of India, Bangladesh and Maldives) is strictly prohibited.

      • Be respectful when taking photos. Ask permission before taking photographs of locals, especially of older people and religious figures, and outside monasteries. You are not generally permitted to take photographs inside monasteries.
      • Additional gratuities are at the discretion of the traveler. Tipping for guides and drivers is standard practice. 
      • Travel insurance is no longer required to apply for a visa to enter Bhutan. However, it is strongly recommended.
      • It is imperative to carry the same passport used to apply for your visa during your travels to Bhutan.
      • If your passport is renewed after your visa has been approved, we will need an updated passport scan so we can reapply for your visa.

    • - All foreign travelers to Bhutan are required to pay mandatory fees and visa fee apart from Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan and Maldivian nationals (who follow different guidelines)  - The mandatory fees include the Daily Sustainable Tourism Royalty Fee (USD 100 per adult per day, USD 50 per child (6 to 11 years old) per day. Children from 0 to 5 years are not subject to daily fees - Visitors must also pay a one-time Visa entry fee of USD 40 per person - Travelers should print their approved visa form to present to the immigration officers at Paro Airport - Travelers arriving to Bhutan via a flight through India where transiting is required will need an Indian visa with dual entry. This includes cities such as Delhi or Kolkata, and this is in addition to the visa required to enter Bhutan
