In the foothills of the Himalayas, a unique journey through contemporary music and jazz performances brings together vocalist Magos Herrera, composer Paola Prestini, cellist Jeffrey Zeigler, and filmmaker Daniel Oxenhandler.
At the heart of the 10-day exploration into sound and collective listening is an adaptation of Primero Sueño, a processional opera co-created by the musicians.
The program also includes Houses of Zodiac, performed by Zeigler, and a screening of Con Alma, followed by a discussion led by the artists. A two-part session, “Sound as a Path to Equilibrium,” explores sound as a form of communication, while a guided Sonic Walk through Vana’s grounds invites deep listening through sound compositions at dusk.
Throughout the retreat, Vana’s wellness program continues for treatments, yoga, and healing rituals.
