Showcasing the bounty of Douro Valley produce harvested from our good earth
Dining options at Six Senses Douro Valley are a celebration of the region with much of the produce coming from the verdant valley and surrounding countryside. An organic garden of vegetables and herbs is located right on the estate. Fresh ingredients are harvested only as needed, assuring ultimate freshness and flavor.
Open throughout the day. Inside there is a dining room and open cooking station, which has a wood-fired oven and Josper grill where you can watch our chefs in action. Outside there is a sunny terrace with a trickling fountain and vineyard views.
Classic, yet contemporary décor creates an intimate atmosphere with huge fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows. Seasonal market-inspired fare incorporates the best regional cuisine and local ingredients.
For a truly local experience, the Wine Library & Terrace is the perfect spot to order pre-dinner drinks or to settle in for a while longer and make a meal of it with a few plates of delicious tapas to accompany the wonderful wine selection.
Gather your group and settle in at one of our secret spots to enjoy food prepared specifically for you by your chef, paired with the region's best wines. Along the river, in the vineyards or woods - the hardest decision of the day will be which spot to choose.
Make a rendezvous with relaxation as you enjoy great wines served by the glass with tapas on the side or as a pre-dinner treat. Book an intimate, private-themed wine tasting guided by our sommelier and surrounded by towering wine racks, or enjoy vintage films on the terrace during warm summer evenings.
Destination Dining is a key signature concept of all Six Senses resorts, and the culinary and service team place special emphasis on creating menus and experiences that can be enjoyed in unique locations. Whether it be in a beautiful spot by the river, with a scenic waterfall at your back, or in a Georgian era grotto, or in a beautiful spot in our forest garden. Our aim is to help you discover some hidden spots around the hotel grounds while enjoying a truly memorable personal picnic or gastronomic experience.
