Discover the slow pace of rural life
Pay a visit to Gangtey Village to explore the quaint shops of this one-street town and visit the 16th-century golden-topped Gangtey Goemba at the head of the valley. Phobjikha Valley's landmark structure was built as a center for Buddhist philosophy and spiritual teaching. The monastery encompasses a school, meditation facilities and living quarters for its resident monks and is also home to the mind reincarnation of Pema Lingpa, one of the region’s most important “treasure discoverers.”
