Six Senses Gangtey
With temperate weather, Bhutan is an ideal year-round destination. March to April and September to November offer pleasant weather for hiking and trekking. May to August presents lush landscapes with blooming flowers and abundant vegetation. December to February brings sunny days and clear mountain views.
From December to February, Gangtey experiences sunny days with clear views of the incredible mountain ranges.
March to May brings warmer weather and beautiful, blooming flowers. During this time, there are many varieties of birds to watch.
June to August brings light rain and lush, green landscapes. Several yoga and meditation retreats are on offer during this season to reconnect and rebalance, so you arrive home a whole new you.
September to November marks the beginning of autumn displaying clear skies and pleasant weather and is also the season for two of the valley’s largest festivals, Gangtey Goenpa and the Crane Festival.
Gangtey Tsechu Festival is held in the large courtyard of Gangtey (Ganteng) Goenpa monastery, which is located on the hillock overlooking Phobjikha valley. The three-day annual festival with performance of sacred mask dances, and also folk singing dances takes place in November.
