Sustainability at Six Senses Krabey Island
Sustainability is at the heart of our values, focused on protecting native flora and fauna, embracing Cambodian culture and traditions, employing local hosts, and giving back to the community. Our hosts maintain small herb gardens, while our 3,700 square meter organic farm on the mainland produces much of our farm-to-fork dinners and spa ingredients. Environmental Responsibility
Six Senses Krabey Island produces still and sparkling drinking water for guests and hosts to minimize the carbon footprint that results from the packaging and transport of water - it tastes great too! At Earth Lab, our center for environmental education and zero waste, we upcycle and recycle waste materials into new products. This limits our negative impact on the local environment while continuing to increase our operational efficiency.

Biodiversity Conservation
Careful planning has allowed the resort to blend into the island’s natural vegetation, creating a paradise for birds and butterflies. A recent biodiversity study by Fishing Cat Ecological Enterprise identified endangered Indochinese Silvered Langurs and 51 bird species, including hornbills, Yellow-vented Bulbuls, Green Imperial-Pigeons, Oriental Magpie-Robins, White-rumped Shamas, and Pacific Reef-Herons. Expert recommendations now guide how we protect and enhance their habitat.

Ocean Protector
We worked with an independent marine biologist to assess the current state of marine life around Krabey Island. The survey identified a variety of species, including commercially valuable fish found in Cambodian waters. More than 30 species of fish, 12 types of invertebrates, and 11 genera of coral were recorded. Species include Rabbitfish, Emperor, Sweetlips, Parrotfish, Grouper, Giant Clam and Coral-Eating Snail.
Social Responsibility
We work hand in hand with AllKids NGO, Ream Primary School, and the chief of Ong village to support school programs, participate in development initiatives, facilitate health and safety, and provide learning and training for a brighter future.

Community Education
In collaboration with AllKids, an NGO registered in Cambodia, we support vulnerable children from nearby villages through facilities, financial assistance for equipment and materials, and career guidance. We also provided 30 hours of digital skills training for teachers at Ream Primary School. In 2025, a total of 1,485 community members gained improved access to education, including wellness, sustainability, and essential soft skills.

Water for All
We provide water filters to AllKids, and collaborate with them to supply clean water to Ream Primary School. The project included installing a four meter-high concrete stand accommodating a 5,000-liter water tank with a solar pump to reduce pumping costs and increase the amount of water held in storage. We installed three toilet facilities in Preah Vihear Province, providing improved sanitation for 1,000 community members.

Waste Awareness
In 2025, in collaboration with Ream Primary School, we installed a battery disposal bin accessible to 489 community members, alongside delivering e-waste training to students and teachers. We also conducted plastic awareness workshops, organized an annual plogging event, and led community trash collection initiatives, resulting in 1,170 kg of waste being collected in 2025.
