Magnificent in her beauty, splendid in her contradictions: Rome is simply unique. Ancient remains, medieval streets, Renaissance facades, Baroque wonders, and Neoclassical squares gloriously blend together here.
In addition to a host of cultural experiences, we have been busy curating bespoke cultural tours to suit your interests and time available during your stay.
Here are just a few highlights.
Enjoy a wonderful journey back in time with a local guide to show you the way to a treasure trove of timeless gems behind the imposing doors of the Vatican Museums: from Egyptian sarcophagi to Flemish tapestries, from Classical antiquities to Renaissance fresco paintings. Discover the secrets behind Michelangelo’s paintings in the Sistine Chapel and marvel at The Pietà within the beautiful St. Peter’s Basilica.
If you’d like to beat the crowds, ask us about early morning entrance.
Enjoy the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill “far from the madding crowds” by unlocking a secluded location off the beaten tracks. Follow a dusty path to a historical building, open the rusted door, and two thousand years of history will be standing right in front of you.
While iconic landmarks such as such as Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Campo De’ Fiori won't be left uncovered, your private guide can customize your itinerary to enjoy hidden corners and fascinating spots along the way.
Ask about our “Rome in a Day” tours too.
Former imperial mausoleum, papal fortress, and harsh prison, nowadays the castle is a national museum hosting a collection of paintings, sculptures, military objects, and medieval weapons. The terrace offers one of the most unforgettable views over the Eternal City.
On request, we offer special admission to the prison, the Pope’s personal washroom, and the Passetto, the corridor connecting the castle to the Vatican City.
This off-the-beaten-path tour through a lively neighborhood takes in the synagogue, museum, traditional shops, and delicious kosher restaurants. Well worth the visit is the splendid church of St. Pietro in Vincoli (St. Peter in Chains) to admire one of Michelangelo's masterpieces: a wonderful statue featuring Moses, centerpiece of Pope Julius II's tomb.
Villa Farnesina was commissioned by banker Agostino Chigi in the early 16th century and is arguably one of the most renowned Italian Renaissance masterpieces, where architecture fuses with frescos. The villa has been home architect Baldassare Peruzzi and painters Sodoma and Raphael, who painted the amazing Loggia of Amore and Psiche. You’ll also have time to wander the intriguing Trastevere neighborhood, with its “piazze”, picturesque alleys, and artisan shops.
A fascinating world of ancient wonders lies waiting for you 30 feet underground and this tour takes you through Rome’s hidden layers to reveal buried treasure. The three-level church of St. Clement treats you to a vertical journey through the different time periods of the Eternal City.
The tour continues to the Roman Houses on Celio with magnificent frescoes dating back to the 3rd century.
Did you know Rome was family friendly? See the city through your children’s eyes with specially curated kids’ tours to keep them entertained and begging to come back for more!
Who said that museums and mausoleums can’t be fun for children! Maybe they haven’t come across our tours, many of which combine with a game to engage and amuse little ones through interactive content and trivia.
For much of its 3,000-year history, Rome has been home to power and influence, leaving behind an astonishing cultural heritage. These iconic treasures fill the city’s churches, galleries, and piazzas … not forgetting our own artworks, leading to a ‘Best in Show’ award by Hospitality Design magazine.
