Punakha Valley is the warmest of the Six Senses Bhutan destinations. Summer temperatures can reach 86°F (32°C).
From December to February, Punakha is a favorite winter destination due to mild weather and lower altitude.
Spring is also a popular time, with trees and flowers blooming across the valley.
From June to August, summer brings warmer temperatures, light rain showers and vibrant green hues.
September to November brings mild, pleasant temperatures.
In February/March, the Punakha Drubchen is a unique festival with dramatic recreation of a 17th century battle with the Tibetan army. The Punakha Tshechu is also a popular festival with the unfurling of the thongdrol (a large tapestry) of Guru Rinpoche.
