Six Senses Laamu

How to get to Six Senses Laamu

Getting here is part of the fun. From Male International Airport (MLE) you’ll be escorted to the domestic terminal lounge ready for the 35-minute flight to Laamu’s Kadhdhoo Airport and a fascinating bird’s-eye view of the beautiful Maldives Archipelago. Your GEM (Guest Experience Maker) arranges your 15-minute speedboat trip to the resort.

Information

  • Resort Transfers and Transfer Fee

    • Round-trip transfers between Male’s International Airport and the resort are by domestic commercial flight followed by a speed boat transfer to Six Senses Laamu. The rate is USD 590 + 23.2% tax and service charge per person. This will be arranged and booked by the resort upon making a reservation.

  • Domestic Flight Operating Hours

    • Domestic flights within Maldives operate throughout the day and night. Depending on the destination you are flying to, variable schedules determine the best connecting flight in line with your international flight or onward transfer. Flight schedules remain subject to change and are traditionally released to the resort by the domestic airline company at/around 6:00 pm daily.

  • Is My Flight Direct?

    • On some occasions your flight may have a stop on route to drop off and pick up passengers at other domestic airports. We will endeavor to provide you with the most direct route, subject to availability and the required connecting time of your international flight, or onward transfer arrangements.

  • Baggage allowances

    • International business travelers: 88 pounds (40 kilograms), plus 11 pounds (5 kilograms) for hand luggage per person
International economy travelers: 66 pounds (30 kilograms), plus 11 pounds (5 kilograms) for hand luggage per person

Baggage exceeding these allowances will be subject to excess weight charges which will be advised by the airline. Passengers are also advised that over-sized carry-on hand luggage may not fit the overhead compartments of smaller airplanes and will be treated as check-in baggage.

If you are planning to bring oversized items such as surfboards, strollers, etc., please let us know well in advance so that we can confirm with the domestic handler that they can be carried on your flight due to baggage space limitations of some smaller airplanes. For example, the maximum length of a packed surfboard must not exceed 7 feet (213 centimeters) in length. You should also advise us and your travel advisor in advance if you plan to travel with excess baggage.

  • Combined Boat Transfers

    • The speedboat transfer from Six Senses Laamu is a combined boat transfer which means it is shared with other guests of the resort.

Alternatively, you may pay a supplement to travel by private charted transportation, in which case the boat will depart as soon as you are ready without delay.

If you wish to upgrade to a private transfer, please contact your Guest Experience Maker who will be happy to make the necessary arrangements subject to boat availability.

  • Two Island Holidays

    • If your vacation includes more than one resort reachable by both boat and domestic flight, please note that your transfer to the second resort will be via the airport. As with all combined transfers, you may be required to wait for other international flights to arrive before the boat transfer is ready to depart. Our dedicated airport representatives will be present for any assistance.

Please note that requests for specific transfer times are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

  • Restrictions

    • It is illegal to bring alcohol and pork into Maldives - they will be removed from your luggage before you enter the country. Guest are also prohibited to travel with dogs in the Maldives.
