Six Senses Yao Noi

When to visit Yao Noi

Sunseekers tend to visit from October to April, although there are plenty of reasons to join us all year round. Scuba diving season coincides with the warm months of October to April and if you're lucky, you may spot a plankton-eating, filter-feeding whale shark (don't worry, these gentle giants don't bite) between the months of August and November.

    • Toast the Thai New Year during Songkran, our yearly water festival on April 13. Join us for a day of splashing fun, starting with a 'sanuk' parade accompanied by a local drum band and dance performances, where sprays of water blessings serve as a great way to cool down in the afternoon heat. It coincides with Easter, so join us for egg painting and Easter egg hunts with ice cream rewards for all.

    • The Vegetarian Festival in Phuket Old Town is a chance to immerse in all things local in this vibrant island of Southern Thailand, from delicious vegetarian treats to the music on the streets. We can arrange for transport to Phuket Town for you to watch the parade and eat your fill of fascinating fare.

    • Loy Krathong Festival takes place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar. Decorate your own Thai ‘krathong’ made of banana stems and flowers before releasing it to float off into the calm waters. Let go of the past and make a wish for the future.

    • Christmas and New Year. We add a tropical twist to traditional fare for a festive vibe and activities the whole family will love. New Year’s Eve is a colorful evening with a fun-filled gala event and special countdown to midnight on Mai Thai Beach.
