Our passion to support and protect the environment has been recognized by National Geographic Traveler magazine, who rates us one of the world’s top eco-lodges.
We’ve restored our beach to optimize egg laying for green turtles and decrease the mortality rate of turtle hatchings. This ambitious project in cooperation with Con Dao National Park authorities, includes a safe incubation enclosure to protect eggs from threats such as poaching “Let’s Get Cracking”! . Guests are encouraged to participate in our responsible hatchling releases, following the Con Dao National Park’s Code of Conduct. If lucky enough you will get to watch a mama sea turtle laying her eggs right on the resort beach.
Our efforts also extend to conducting training programs on sea turtle conservation for our hosts and in the local community, with a vision to involve more marine scientists in research projects on the future of the turtles around Con Dao.
Community education is key in making a lasting impact, which has motivated us to organize a wide range of activities, from teaching English to inspiring the next generation of stewards. English classes are held twice week for 57 local children from 6 to 14 years old, with enthusiastic guests invited to share their English-speaking skills.
English classes are conducted twice a week for local children aged 6 to 14, we have provided a total of 94 hours of teaching to 105 students. By providing this skill, the children have the wider range of career opportunities.
In collaboration with WWF and the Youth Union Con Dao, the 2R Station Project aims to reduce waste sent to landfills on Con Dao Island. Through this initiative, in 2024, 227 kilograms of plastic waste was successfully removed and diverted from landfill, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.
Alongside, we run smoothly environmental workshops at local schools, called “Climate Warrior” with subjects including healthy diets, reducing plastic waste, planting trees and preserving nature.
We supply the means to provide clean drinking water to hundreds of students annually, and they also receive study tools and learn about our wellness and sustainability initiatives through our community engagement programs. In 2024, 3,904 community members from schools & kindergartens gained access to clean drinking water.
