Sustainability at Six Senses Con Dao
Sustainability means reducing our footprint while supporting the island around us. Get creative in Earth Lab workshops, turning everyday materials into useful new items, or explore our gardens grown using traditional farming methods. Through “Let’s Get Cracking” with Con Dao National Park, more than 35,000 green sea turtle hatchlings have been released since 2018. At certain times of year, join us on the beach to witness their magical first journey to the sea.
Environmental Responsibility
Six Senses Con Dao was recognized by National Geographic among the World’s Best Ecolodges in 2019.

Sea Turtle Incubation and Research
We’ve restored our beach to optimize egg laying for green turtles and decrease the mortality rate of turtle hatchings. This ambitious project in cooperation with Con Dao National Park authorities, includes a safe incubation enclosure to protect eggs from threats such as poaching “Let’s Get Cracking!”. Guests are encouraged to participate in our responsible hatchling releases, following the Con Dao National Park’s Code of Conduct. If lucky enough you will get to watch a mama sea turtle laying her eggs right on the resort beach. Our efforts also extend to conducting training programs on sea turtle conservation for our hosts and in the local community, with a vision to involve more marine scientists in research projects on the future of the turtles around Con Dao.
Social Responsibility
Community education is key in making a lasting impact, which has motivated us to organize a wide range of activities, from teaching English to inspiring the next generation of stewards. English classes are held twice week, offering a meaningful space for learning, cultural exchange, and connection.

Education and English Classes
English classes are conducted twice a week for local children aged 6 to 14, delivering a total of 84 hours of teaching in 2025. These sessions focus on strengthening language skills that may broaden their chances for a brighter future.

Waste Management
In collaboration with WWF and the Youth Union Con Dao, the 2R Station Project aims to reduce waste sent to landfills on Con Dao Island. Through this initiative, in 2025, 305 kilograms of plastic waste was successfully removed and diverted from landfill.

Water for All
Since the start of this project in 2024, we have installed 12 water filtration machines, providing 3,879 community members with access to clean filtered water. Alongside this, students also receive essential study tools and are introduced to our wellness and sustainability initiatives through ongoing community engagement programs.
