Six Senses La Sagesse
As an all-year destination, there are lots of activities and festivals to celebrate throughout the year. December to May is the driest time to visit to enjoy outdoor and daytime activities. However, the country enjoys a warm, tropical climate all year round, tempered by cooling trade winds, with average highs of 29°C to 30°C (84°F to 86°F) throughout. The average hours of sunshine don't vary a great deal throughout the year. Known as the Spicemas Festival and the most important celebration on the island, the Caribbean’s best carnival takes place over the course of two weeks in August, culminating in dancing to calypso and reggae beats. Any time of year is a good time to focus on wellness activities in the spa from rituals, yoga, meditation, and making your own body scrub at the Alchemy Bar.
All hail sargassum, a floating seaweed that naturally travels from the Sargasso Sea – a unique part of the Atlantic Ocean – where these golden-brown plants drift freely, creating entire ecosystems that support turtles, fish, and other marine life. Between May and September, ocean currents gently carry sargassum to the Caribbean, including our beautiful bay here at La Sagesse. Occasionally, this means you'll spot some seaweed along our pristine shorelines or floating near the surf. It’s a reminder to celebrate the ocean’s vibrant and ever-changing life. The resort’s sustainability team is actively and thoughtfully managing its arrival and working to keep beach access smooth with respect to the natural rhythms of our marine environment. This is just one chapter in our story of how we connect to the vast waters that surround us – visit our Earth Lab to find out more.
