First up, a visit to the arresting Plai Laem Temple, an 18-arm statue of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion in Chinese Buddhism. Next, you’ll witness Big Buddha Temple, known as Wat Phra Yai, surveying the surroundings from 12 golden meters above you, before moving onto a smaller temple: Khunaram Temple. Here you’ll learn about the Mummified Monk who foresaw his own death in 1973, now perfectly preserved and sitting in a meditative pose in a glass case with sunglasses to protect his eyes.
After the temples, you’ll discover Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks or Hin Ta Hin Yai. Grandfather rock is easy to spot but you may need to search for Grandmother rock! These intriguingly shaped rocks certainly draw giggling crowds. And finally, to Na Muang Waterfalls to watch the water cascade 18 meters over rocks to a glittering pool. It’s a must for nature lovers.
