August 19, 2025 - If a fly and flop vacation isn’t your family’s style, swap the lounger for cultural discoveries and fun activities in India and the Maldives, all bookable through the Six Senses app.
Wherever you stay, our ethos is simple: help you disconnect from daily routines and unwind. While we’re strong advocates of pure relaxation, there are plenty of local adventures and cultural discoveries to lure you from your hammock too. You’ll find a weekly schedule of group activities, many complimentary, from dawn fishing to stargazing, which you can browse and book on the Six Senses app.
Children don’t want to be distracted. They want to be included. At both Six Senses Kanuhura and Six Senses Laamu, little explorers are welcome along for the ride and part of the adventure.
From now through November, beaches double as turtle nesting grounds. Marine biologists can notify you when hatchlings emerge, offering a rare, front-row moment as they flip-flop their way to the sea.
Divers and snorkelers can spot manta rays year-round around the Laamu Atoll, with September and October prime months to encounter them near Six Senses Kanuhura too. For beginners, trial scuba dives in the Sip & Sand pool offer a safe, shallow-water introduction, while complimentary house reef snorkels reveal vibrant marine life just offshore.
New at Six Senses Kanuhura is a Mindful Stargazing evening, featuring telescopes trained on the wonders of constellations and planets, followed by moonlight meditation and singing bowl therapy to the soothing sounds of ocean waves. Breathwork sessions, brain gym activities for kids, and core workouts for parents round out just some of the complimentary programming.
At Six Senses Laamu, the Sea Hub of Environmental Learning in Laamu (SHELL) celebrates its two-year anniversary this year. This immersive marine education space hosts films and talks on sea turtle conservation, seagrass ecosystems, and Maldivian marine life. The weekly schedule also includes beginner yoga, qigong, functional fitness, facial yoga, and all-time favorites showing at the Cinema Under the Stars.
The app is a planner and portal to new discoveries, tempting you (temporarily) away from your lounger to wherever your curiosity leads.
Ayurveda teaches us to tune into the body’s natural rhythms, or doshas. At Six Senses Vana, your retreat is shaped around this wisdom, balancing active and quiet hours through the day.
Mornings begin gently with hikes in the Himalayan foothills, hatha yoga, and a light breakfast to counteract the sluggishness of kapha energy and set the tone for the day. By late morning, as pitta rises and metabolism peaks, it’s time for activities like aqua moves, low-impact circuits, or padel tennis. Culinary workshops and body scrub making ease the transition toward a nourishing lunch.
Afternoons, governed by airy vata energy, invite creativity and calm. Choose reflective sessions like meditation, restorative yoga, or the loveliest thing of all, Raag therapy, which induces healing through the gentle sounds of the flute.
As evening falls and the body naturally winds down, wisdom talks, breathing practices, and mindful journaling help you reflect and rest.
Choose a five-night retreat at Six Senses Vana and your journey starts with a 10 percent saving. The Extended Wellness Immersion offer also includes all cuisine, return airport transfers, arrival and departure consultations, and a program of Ayurveda, yoga, Tibetan Medicine, and Natural Healing Therapies.
