November 6, 2019 - You might notice our hosts are walking with an extra spring in their step. During September our hotels and resorts officially launched Mission Wellness, a host-run and year-round initiative to help everyone achieve optimal well-being.
Our hosts are aware that well-being isn’t just a tick in the box that they’ve eaten an apple or run around the block. It is something to nurture all day, every day – and at work as much as at home. That’s why all of our resorts have launched Mission Wellness, which aims to develop a sustainable and supporting workplace wellness culture with activities linked to the eight dimensions of wellness.
Emotional: Positive outlook on life; and developing increased self-esteem, and awareness of others.
Environmental: Awareness and improvement of the environment and local communities. Able and empowered to contribute to the greater good.
Financial: Improved financial knowledge and awareness.
Intellectual: Culture of life-long learning and growth; and enhancing creative interests and skills.
Occupational: Sense of inspiration, ownership and satisfaction by what you do.
Physical: Proactive well-being through conscious activity, nutrition and sleep.
Social: Building healthy relationships, a sense of connection and a well-developed support system.
Spiritual: Exploring purpose, beliefs and values, and meaning in life.
Activities and events are organized each month for hosts by hosts. Each resort chose to celebrate the launch in its own way. For example, Six Senses Yao Noi hosts brought out their skills of painting and drawing whilst the engineering team made amazing monster figurines. Along with Six Senses Zil Pasyon, Six Senses Kaplankaya and Six Senses Fiji, the resort also introduced stations with games depicting each of the eight dimensions of wellness. Six Senses Samui launched group activities along with meditation, workshops and healthy lunches. Things took a more quirky turn with fun and games at Six Senses Laamu, a tasty turn with a healthy lunch at Six Senses Douro Valley and a competitive turn with games at Six Senses Uluwatu. Hats off to the 60 hosts participating in the uphill race at Six Senses Thimphu – as the capital of the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, we can only imagine the size of the hill!
