August 30, 2019 - When complete, Six Senses Ibiza resort and Six Senses Residences Ibiza will dance to the beat of a new mantra: transformative well-being to nourish the body, mind and soul.
Hidden away on the tranquil northern tip of Ibiza you’ll find crystalline Cala Xarraca Bay, the inspiring setting for Six Senses Ibiza, the first sustainable resort and residential community in the Balearics. There are a handful of double-bay private villas available for residential buyers: each with seafront access and magnificent, unobstructed views.
Six Senses Ibiza will offer residents a vibrant resort life experience with unmatched possibilities to enjoy the things we love the most: community, spirituality and celebration.
With its live-and-let-live attitude, the north of the island is offbeat and untamed. It has long attracted visionaries and dreamers to its whitewashed shores, its unconventional appeal serving as a Mediterranean magnet for hippies and jet setters alike. The year-round Six Senses community will offer daily programming to embrace music and art, share ideas and learning, immerse in new experiences, and optimize health and well-being.
The community’s creative flame is fanned by its two clubhouses. The Beach Caves an intimate food and dining space which lies directly on the shorefront. Evenings will probably be free-range, left to roam wherever they want to go. Just a short drive away, The Farm is home to an organic cooking school and workshops, and already opens for pop-up dinners and community events. It is also the place where guest chefs drop in for an impromptu party. Food is central to the community’s ethos – a passion for how it tastes, and also how it impacts our health and well-being. Cooking with all organic and responsibly sourced products, the four signature restaurants will tell a comprehensive story for guests and residents.
A grain of sand in a sea of blue, Ibiza is abundant with the high-spirited and highly spiritual, drawn by the beauty, the light and the natural rhythms of the seasons. It is therefore no surprise that Six Senses will feature a one-of-a-kind spiritual learning center for enrichment programs and retreats. It will be open year-round for education, fitness, yoga, mindfulness and more.
Did you know the island even has a resident Goddess? Tanit is the Goddess of dance, fertility, creation and destruction, protector of Ibiza and guardian of womankind. Her shrine, hidden deep in the rocks in the ancient Cova d’es Cuieram, was discovered in 1907. Some say she still watches over the island. Others gather at full moon to dance in her honor. There’s no doubt her presence is felt by the many women who travel here to seek her counsel and unleash their own inner goddess.
As with all Six Senses properties, the focus is on escaping the mundane. Paddle around the point for fresh gambas at Cala Xuclar, a pine-fringed paradise that’s home to just a clutch of sun-bleached fisherman’s huts. Pick up a bohemian bargain at San Juan’s craft market held on a Sunday, when the tiny village bursts into life. Soak up the hypnotic drumming at Cala Benirrás, the horseshoe cove synonymous with sunset celebrations. Linger under the lanterns at La Paloma, a café-by-day, restaurant-by-night and true northern institution nestled in the orange groves in the tiny rural hamlet of San Lorenzo. Rummage through the treasure-packed artisan auction house at Santa Gertrudis and book the latest table you can to while away the sultry hours at the ultimate supper spot.
Or, for the ultimate other-worldly experience, look out for our next Full Moon at The Farm, which combines the cosmic energy of a full moon (known to heighten even most mild-mannered emotions) with the gloriously unpredictable nature of a Six Senses party. Anything can kick off!
